Electronic Commerce (e-Commerce or EC) is an emerging concept that describes the process of buying and selling or exchanging
products, services and information via computer networks, including the Internet. In 2002 alone, on-line e-Commerce
transactions are expected to total somewhere between $500 billion and $3 trillion.
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU:
The program emphasizes the technical skills that business and industry seek as they incorporate the Internet and intranets
into their overall enterprise systems. The program's project management core focuses on information technology (IT) project
management processes, such as structuring project lifecycles and workflows and status assessment techniques. Some of the
courses include: Project Management Systems; Project Cost and Budget Management; and Project Human Resource Management. The
technical core focuses on IT technical standards and protocols, programming and skills used in creating infrastructures
utilized in electronic business. Some of the courses include: E-Commerce Technology System Design; Managing and Maintaining
E-Business Web Sites; and Managing and Maintaining a Network.
The Technical Project Management program is designed to help graduates prepare for various entry-level career opportunities
involving the management of technical projects in a variety of e-Commerce service or product companies.
